The BBS (Hons) (Marketing) is a four-year part-time programme that provides the knowledge and skills essential for contemporary business, focusing marketing concepts and practices. Thus, students are taught the key components of both successful marketing and business practice in general.

The first year follows the same programme as the Certificate in Business Studies. In the second year, students follow the Diploma in Business Studies (Marketing) Programme.

Learning Methods

There are three available tuition methods: distance education, lectures at the IPA in Dublin, and lectures at selected regional Institutes of Technology and other Regional Centres (where there are sufficient students to make up a class).

Assessment

Students are assessed by means of assignments given throughout the year and final examinations.

Audience

Graduates of the BBS (Hons) (Marketing) can apply for substantial exemptions from the professional examinations from the Marketing Institute of Ireland. Students who take this programme may also apply for significant exemptions from the examinations of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting.

Subject Accumulation

If you do no wish to take all the subjects in any year, you may study one, two, or three on a phased basis.

'I found the Bachelor of Business Studies programme to be informative, well-structured and very reflective of the modern business environment. Lectures communicated both an understanding of the academic material and also practical examples of core course concepts'.
