This part-time programme provides the knowledge and skills essential to modern business, focusing on accounting. Students receive instruction in the key principles and techniques in financial, cost, and management accounting. They also study subjects of general import to modern business life, including taxation, auditing, business policy, financial management and project management.
Graduates of this degree can apply for substantial exemptions from the professional exams of the major accounting bodies: CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, CPA and ICAI.
Delivery and Duration
This programme takes four academic years. It includes two interim awards (certificate and diploma). It begins in late September and ends with examinations in mid-April. It can be taken in three different ways:
• Evening lectures at the IPA in Dublin
• Evening lectures at selected regional centres
• Distance education
All students attend some weekend seminars and tutorials at the IPA.
