The MA (Financial Management) is a two-year, part-time programme that focuses on key issues in the analysis and management of organisational finance. It seeks to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective financial management.
This programme will be of particular interest to those who want to obtain some real expertise in financial management in the wider public service.
This programme takes two years. In the first year students study six public management subjects and receive the interim award of a Higher Diploma in Public Management. The second year is divided into semesters. In the first of these, students study three financial management subjects. In the second, they write a minor dissertation on a specific financial management topic. The MA is delivered through distance education, so students can live and work anywhere in Ireland and can remain in full-time employment. Students attend some weekend seminars at the IPA in Dublin.
