The Postgraduate Diploma in Policy is a one-year, part-time programme that focuses on improving the policy-analysis skills of Irish public servants. It responds to a palpable need for greater understanding of project management, economic and financial analysis, social policy analysis, cost benefit analysis and data analysis.
This programme is open to public servants of all grades who are concerned with policy analysis.
The Postgraduate Diploma is delivered through lectures at the IPA in Dublin and can be taken one day per week over two years or two days a week over one year.

Students who do not wish to take all the subjects may choose to study one or two on a phased basis. Students who do not need the full qualification can choose particular subjects of interest.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Policy Analysis is accredited by the National University of Ireland (NUI) and is positioned at level nine on the National Framework of Qualifications.
Students who successfully complete the programme will be eligible to proceed to a further year of study for a Master’s qualification.
Prospective students should have an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification.
