The CompTIA A+ certification is an entry-level qualification in the Information Technology (IT) industry. Issued by CompTIA, the A+ certification is widely accepted as an industry standard certification often used to start a career in IT. The certification is awarded after a candidate successfully passes two exams which cover the domains of Mobile Devices, Networking, Hardware, Virtualisation and Cloud Computing, Hardware and Network Troubleshooting, Operating Systems, Security, Software Troubleshooting and Operational Procedures.

Please note that this CompTIA A+ course is a closed event for students on the Move2ICT Programme.  Only those on the Move2ICT Programme are eligible to register for this programme.

ITIL Foundation provides the ideal introduction to the IT Service Management approach of ITIL.

This ITIL® Foundation Training Course will give delegates an understanding of the key concepts, terminology and elements of ITIL, allowing you to improve your career prospects and abilities within the workplace. Students will learn about the lifecycle stages and the links between them, the different processes used and how they contribute to service management practices.

Big Data and Data Analytics are the current buzzwords in IT. But what does it really mean and why is it so important? This course provides you with an understanding of what "Big Data" is, how it can be used, and what benefits it can offer organisations.  It is an elective module of the Diploma in Computer Studies but can also be taken on a stand-alone basis.

Cloud and Virtualisation Essentials is an elective module on the Diploma in Computer Studies. It can also be taken on a stand-alone basis. This course introduces the various technologies and business models related to virtualisation and cloud computing.

Foundations of Web Design is an elective module on the Diploma in Computer Studies. It can also be taken on a stand-alone basis. The Foundations of Web Design module teaches you essential web page development skills. You will learn to develop web sites using Hypertext Markup Language version 5 (HTML5) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

Hardware and Software (including Networking and Virtualisation) is a core module on the Diploma in Computer Studies. It can also be taken on a stand-alone basis. The module is based on the CompTIA A+ Certification which is generally classed as the starting point for any career in Information Technology.

IT Project Management is a core module on the Diploma in Computer Studies. It can also be taken on a stand-alone basis.  IT Project Management provides essential tools and techniques to develop and execute IT Project Plans.

Security Foundations is a compulsory module on the Diploma in Computer Studies. It can also be taken on a stand alone basis. The course provides understanding of and strategies for implementing and managing IT security and organisational security.

Server Fundamentals is an elective module on the Diploma in Computer Studies. It can also be taken on a stand-alone basis. The course covers Client Service Modules and Microsoft Active Directory Environments.

Systems Development and Database Design is a core module on the Diploma in Computer Studies. It can also be taken on a stand-alone basis.  The course teaches participants the well-understood approaches to relational database design and explains how to create a good robust database design.
