Paul Turpin is involved in developing services to promote good governance in public interest bodies, managing the IPA Governance Forum, carrying out governance related projects and supporting the Forum of Chairpersons of State Bodies.

Paul is a Chartered Director and Board member. He has served as a Board and Audit Committee member at public, private and non-profit organisations and private organisations. He is a member of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland and a previous member of the Health Insurance Authority.

Before joining the IPA, he worked in investment management and as a stockbroker. Previously, he worked in the public sector including as economic advisor to the Department of Industry & Commerce, head of the NESC staff and with the European Commission. He holds an MA (Economics), MBA and Diplomas in Corporate Governance, in Statistics and in Financial Management.

Paul has designed and delivered workshops, training courses and consultancy projects on the roles and responsibilities of governing boards, strategy preparation, board evaluation and appointments, audit and risk management. Clients have included State Bodies, Government Departments and non-profits including sports bodies, hospitals and membership organisations.
