Civil Service

The Executive Officer programme is designed for staff at Executive Officer (EO) level whose role is part operational and part management, to enable them to successfully undertake their functions and to contribute fully to the achievement of Departmental goals. The aim of the programme is to provide an opportunity for staff of government departments, offices and state agencies, to develop the competencies required to be effective in the Executive Officer role and to acquire a firm understanding of what is expected from civil servants and how this differs from working in other sectors.

This programme will clarify the role and responsibilities for Executive Officers within a civil service context, identify the competencies required for the role and provide opportunity to further develop these competencies.  The programme provides a safe learning environment in which participants can develop their competencies further and in so doing, make a significant impact within their role.
