Founded in 1957, the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) is a leading provider of education, training, development, publication and research services for the public sector in Ireland and overseas.  Its objective is to advance the understanding, standard and practice of public administration and public policy.  The IPA is a recognised college of the National University of Ireland.  It provides third-level programmes, professional development courses, training and advisory services in areas including Public Management, Local Government, Governance, Leadership, Human Resources and Finance. 

To support its continued success, the IPA is seeking to make two senior management appointments, both reporting to the Director General.

Director of Human Resources and Company Secretary

The Director of Human Resources and Company Secretary will have responsibility for the management and development of the Human Resources function, Board Secretariat and Operational Compliance within the IPA.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience include:
  • Proven track record at a senior level in a Human Resources function
  • Knowledge of the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent, in a relevant discipline

Director of Finance and Corporate Services

The Director of Finance and Corporate Services will have responsibility for the management and development of the Finance, Information Technology and Business Services functions within the Institute.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience include:
  • Proven track record at a senior level in a Finance or Corporate Services function
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities, focused on operational excellence
  • Qualified Accountant with extensive experience in Reporting, Audit and Compliance
