The IPA in partnership with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and also in association with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) present this CPD Seminar for Professional Accountants.  Each CPD event will address a topic of specific relevance to professional accountants and finance professionals in the Irish Public Service.  

The theme of the November event is "Enhancing Public Performance: Experiences from across the sector.

Speakers included:

  • Ronnie Downes, Ass. Secretary, Department of Public Expenditure & Reform
    Ronnie will be speaking about several initiatives that are ongoing in relation to enhancing the estimates process and introducing financial management and reporting reforms in the Irish public sector. 
  • Angelo McNeive, IPA Associate and Consultant
    Angelo is a specialist in Change Management, Organisational Development, Project Management and Facilitation.  He will be delivering a presentation/workshop on “improving organisational performance through change: keys to success.”
  • Stephen Mulvany, CFO and Deputy Director of the HSE.
    Stephen (or his Deputy) will be speaking on initiatives within the HSE, including the Service Plan and KPIs, that support the HSE in managing its performance and deliverables. 
  • Patricia Sheehan, Director of Audit, C&AG
    Patricia will focus on how recent changes to the finance and governance reporting regime for State Bodies will enhance the performance and effectiveness of State Bodies.  This will largely focus on the new Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies 2016 and in particular the SIC. 
  • Michael McCarthy, Chairperson of the National Oversight and Audit Commission (NOAC)
    Michael will present on the positive impact that the work of NOAC is having on the local government sector. (www.noac.ie)
