Retrospect 2006-1916 is interesting, not only because it shines a light on some of the formative influences of T.K. Whitaker, as well as the contributions he made to public service; but also, because it demonstrates the keen eye he had for the humour and incongruities that, from time to time, attend even the most serious public service tasks!
