This CPD Event for Professional Accountants and Finance Professionals will take place at the IPA on Thursday, 9 May 2019. The seminar theme is "Adapting to Change – Developments in Reporting, Data and CyberSecurity for Finance Professionals.”

The IPA in partnership with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and also in association with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) present this one-day CPD Seminar for Professional Accountants and Finance Professionals.  

Speakers will include:

  • David Watkins
    David currently serves on the International Monetary Fund Panel of Experts and has been a team member on a number of missions relating to improving government financial reporting.  He is also a technical adviser to the Chair of IPSASB.
  • Breda Rafter
    Breda is an Assistant Principal Officer in the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (DPER) with responsibility for Government Accounting.  She will provide an overview of the OECD Report on Financial Reporting in Ireland, presenting key findings and recommendations for financial reporting reforms.
  • Robert Kirk
    Robert will be speaking about the developments that have taken place since the introduction of FRS102 and will provide guidance on the changes that are now relevant for 2019.
  • Fiona Feeley
    Fiona is a Mental Health Activist and Public Speaker. She will be dealing with mental and physical wellness in organisations and individuals, implementing time and stress management techniques along with physical and mental strategies to improve overall balance.
  • Niall Cavanagh
    Niall is Assistant Commissioner for the Data Protection Commission and is responsible for Technical Advice on Breach Notifications, Inquiries and Investigations. 
  • Tom Brett
    Tom is a leading Training Portfolio Manager, where he is involved in quality control, reviewing and setting the direction of training and working with clients with specific training needs within CSIR (Cyber Security and Information Resilience).
