This two-day Programme Management Fundamentals course focuses on the unique challenges and opportunities of delivering complex programmes in the public sector and private sector alike. It concentrates on providing a firm understanding and grounding in programme management, so that participants are better equipped to further develop their skills in transformational change.

As well as covering the principles and practices of programme management, participants are also introduced to the main programme management methodologies, helping individuals and organisations wishing to develop their own in-house programme management practices.

This Programme Management Fundamentals course is led by an experienced project and programme manager and trainer and will use a variety of approaches during the course including presentations, discussion groups, and group exercises. 

This is a two-day course that will be remotely delivered and facilitated by a subject matter expert.

Course Leader

The course leader is Ian Patton, an IPA Associate Specialist, who specialises in helping organisations develop in-house programme and project governance, project management capability, Project Management Offices, PMO Frameworks, projects methodology and organisational change.

Ian has worked with public sector organisations, banks and corporates both in Ireland and in Europe, Scandinavia, the Americas and Africa. With a Master’s degree in Project Management, a member of the chartered Association for Project Management and one time Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, Ian now brings this level of experience to bear in his course design and presentation.
