Maebh is currently a member of the IPA Human Resource Training and Consultancy Team and prior to this she was a member of the IPA Leadership and Management Team. Maebh’s core activity is the design, development and delivery of employee effectiveness programmes to maximise workplace productivity. Topics include assertive communications, motivation, team working, competency based interviewing, managing performance and effective time managment. These programmes are delivered primarily to local authority staff. Maebh is also the IPA Freedom of Information and Data Protection specialist provider.
Maebh is very involved in the design, delivery and customisation of a 3 day HR policy programme for Line Managers with devolved HR responsibility. This programme covers all aspects of HRM and is underpinned by the organisation’s own HRM Policies. Topics include:- managing performance, dignity in the workplace (including equality, diversity, bullying, harassment), attendance management, motivation and grievance/discipline procedures. In 2009 (in association with the LGMA) Maebh undertook the evaluation and analysis of the results of a Local Authority National Training Survey to determine the sector’s learning and development needs and how to best address them. Maebh frequently undertakes HR related consultancy projects ranging from audits of HR processes to analysis of competency framwworks to address training and development needs.
Prior to joining the IPA Maebh worked as a freelance training consultant. She has delivered programmes (both technical and non-technical) in Ireland, Europe and the U.S.A. Maebh began her career in the Personnel Division and later the I.T Division of Department of Agriculture and Food.
