Martin currently manages the IT Training and Education Unit of the IPA and this responsibility also includes the delivery of components of two very successful MSc. programs with UCD, the MSc in Computer Science (Conversion Course) and MSc in Computer Science by Negotiated Learning - Cloud Computing Stream.  In additional, Martin designs and delivers training programmes for middle and senior managers in the public service including programmes in project management, coaching, performance management, general management and leadership development.  He is also the Programme Director for the Certificate and Diploma in Project Management and the Diploma in Computer Studies (Accredited by UCD).

In the recent past Martin has designed, delivered and managed significant training programmes in the Environmental Protection Agency and in Eurofound.  He regularly contributes to Leadership and Management Development programmes including the Leadership Challenge and the Leadership in Local Government Programme.  He has facilitated the development of coaching strategies and programmes and change programmes in a number of semi-state organisations.

His international experience includes delivery of Project Management and ITC training courses in Romania and Macedonia and general management development and training to eastern European and African delegates in Ireland.  He has also run teams developing and delivering software systems to Europe and the Middle East.

As a Manager with over 25 years experience in the private and public sectors, Martin has extensive experience of leading and managing projects.  These projects were mainly in the IT area and included HR, Logistics, and Financial Accounting Packages, Billing Systems, CDW and CRM Systems.  Outside the IT area his projects have included the implementation of a new regime of personal contracts, terms and conditions, competency models and performance management for a public service organisation.  He was also responsible for a very successful AD2000 certification project.

Education:

Martin holds a BA (Hons) in Public Administration from Leicester University.  He also has post graduate diplomas in HR, Computer Science, Marketing and Finance.  He holds a number of qualifications in coaching from Ireland, the UK and the USA and is a member of the Business Coaching Association of Ireland.
