This Artificial Intelligence Masterclass is recommended for Senior Public Service Leaders, at management board level, who wish to develop their knowledge of AI and explore its strategic potential in crafting policy for, and delivering services to, the public.

The context within which public servants operate is increasingly complex and challenging. Fast-paced technological disruption, the proliferation of data, the changing way of work, customer and employee expectations, demographic patterns and other external factors are all shaping our economy and society. The Public Service needs to be strategically placed to respond to challenges in the short, medium and long term.

This Masterclass will assist Departments and Public Sector Organisations in meeting their obligations under the Public Service Transformation strategy, ‘Better Public Services’, and its vision for ‘inclusive, high quality and integrated public service provision that meets the needs and improves the lives of the people of Ireland’. It will equip Senior Leaders with the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as identify its potential use and associated implications for public service organisations.

This is a one-day interactive in-person programme which will use a mixture of presentations, discussions and challenges, providing an opportunity to learn with, and from colleagues implementing, or considering implementing, AI across the Public Service.

This AI Essentials course aligns with the public service transformation strategy, ‘Better Public Services’ which aims to enhance service delivery through technology and digitisation, and will equip participants with the fundamentals of AI, as well as its potential and implications for public service organisations.

The CompTIA A+ certification is an entry-level qualification in the Information Technology (IT) industry. Issued by CompTIA, the A+ certification is widely accepted as an industry standard certification often used to start a career in IT. The certification is awarded after a candidate successfully passes two exams which cover the domains of Mobile Devices, Networking, Hardware, Virtualisation and Cloud Computing, Hardware and Network Troubleshooting, Operating Systems, Security, Software Troubleshooting and Operational Procedures.

Please note that this CompTIA A+ course is a closed event for students on the Move2ICT Programme.  Only those on the Move2ICT Programme are eligible to register for this programme.

ITIL4® Foundation provides the ideal introduction to the IT Service Management approach of ITIL.

This course provides you with an understanding of what "Big Data" is, how it can be used, and what benefits it can offer organisations.  It is an elective module of the Diploma in Computer Studies but can also be taken on a stand-alone basis.

Cloud and Virtualisation Essentials is an elective module on the Diploma in Computer Studies. It can also be taken on a stand-alone basis. This course introduces the various technologies and business models related to virtualisation and cloud computing.

Foundations of Web Design is an elective module on the Diploma in Computer Studies. It can also be taken on a stand-alone basis. The Foundations of Web Design module teaches you essential web page development skills. You will learn to develop web sites using Hypertext Markup Language version 5 (HTML5) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

Hardware and Software (including Networking and Virtualisation) is a core module on the Diploma in Computer Studies. It can also be taken on a stand-alone basis. The module is based on the CompTIA A+ Certification which is generally classed as the starting point for any career in Information Technology.
