Informed Decision Making for Non-Financial Directors was developed to serve Directors and/or aspiring Directors who are driving the strategic vision and mission of their organisation.

The decision-making process of allocating investment and allocation of resources of any enterprise requires a keen understanding of the quantitative and qualitative levers to drive growth.  This course aims to expose Non-Financial Directors to principles of managerial accounting and corporate finance necessary to support the obligation to evaluate growth opportunities of their enterprise.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this online course, participants will have:

  • Tools and techniques to interrogate and challenge financial information presented to the Board.
Course Content

The online course will cover the following areas:

  • Explore the basic concept of relevant costs (opportunity cost, sunk costs, etc.)
  • Expose the participant to the basics of how investment decisions are made.
  • Develop inquiry-led interrogation of investments and methodologies.
