The Programme

CompTIA A+ is a certified course designed to build competence in fundamental IT areas including operating systems, hardware and software.  This course is ideal for those new to IT who need to learn core IT concepts quickly.

Who is this for?

The CompTIA A+ course is ideal for anyone new to IT and/or anyone who wants to start a career in IT  and understand core IT. CompTIA A+ is a very popular starting point in the IT career ladder and the certification is required by many organisations for entry level IT support roles.  Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge in core IT areas that will help increase their career prospects in a competitive IT market.

Over the five days the following modules/content will be addressed:

  • Installing, Configuring, Operating, Troubleshooting devices and software
  • Computer Maintenance and Repair
  • Portable Computers, Notebooks, Tablets, PDAs
  • Operating System, Security, Safety and Environmental procedures
  • PC Support and Hardware Troubleshooting
  • Peripherals, PC Display Screens, Graphics Adapters, TV Tuners, Sound Cards
  • Microprocessors, Multiprocessing, Multitasking, Multithreading
  • Networking Topologies, Components, OSI, Devices, LAN, WAN, Transport Protocols
  • Wireless Networking WEP, WPA, WiFi, Access Point
Assessment

The CompTIA A+ course fully prepares students for the CompTIA 220-901 & 220-902 series exams. Successful completion of the exam leads to Certification – seen as essential for many entry-level IT jobs.
